Highlight Of The Week

I am convinced that our Sunday morning worship services should be the highlight of the week – the time when, as all ages together, we experience God’s presence, offer the Lord Jesus our worship, and hear from him in a way that impacts all our lives. The Worship Planning Team have been working for a couple of months now on introducing some new elements into our services, and I am very excited by the possibilities. Our first autumn series starts on Sunday 31st August and is entitled ‘Living In Hope?’. (More about this in next month’s Newslink). In September, on Friday evenings from 7pm to 8pm prompt we will be running ‘Worship Xpress’ as a time to prepare music, drama, dance, and any other creative endeavours for our worship services. These will be times for people to practice together, but there will also be things that individuals and groups can do at home to enhance our worship – art, poetry, banner-making, photography. We want to promote our worship themes, so we need someone who is good at computer graphics and design to come up with graphics and powerpoint slides. I have done one for the Living In Hope? Series, but I’m sure someone can do much better! Subjects for future sermon series are: healing, prayer and then it’s nearly Christmas. Please have a word with me if you can help! And Chris is planning an Arts in Worship Day for early Autumn so watch out for details.

Finally, as part of our ‘Hope’ series we will be holding a baptismal service on Sunday 14th September. It is not too late if you are considering baptism to have a word with Geoff, but please make it soon!
