Snowflakes are frail but if enough of them stick together, they can stop traffic. I can’t do a whole lot on my own, and you can’t make a very big impact on the world on your own either. But if you get enough snowflakes together, they can do something. And in this church, we’ve got enough people to make a decent snowball.
We’re already a couple of sermons into our “Better Together” series and we are learning that WE is better than ME. We are better together; in fact, God has planned it this way – we were meant to be his people, a community, God’s family, the body of Jesus, the Church. Being a Christian is not about being a lone ranger but a team player. We’ve already seen that we are to walk together, to work together and to watch out for one another. We’ve also noted that we are called to be PARTNERS in making the Good News of Jesus known in our town. If you’ve missed the sermons so far, borrow the tape and catch up. And please make an effort to follow through the series. The dates are below.
Jan 13 Better Together - Romans 12:1-16
Jan 20 Reaching Out Together - Philippians 1:1-11;27-2:2
Feb 17 Relating Together - Colossians 3:1-17
Mar 9 Growing Together - Ephesians 4:14-32
Mar 16 Serving Together - Galatians 5:22-6:10
Apr 13 Worshipping Together - Leviticus 23:1-14
1 John 4:11 says “Since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another”. This is the starting point for building real community: realising how much God loves us. He doesn’t just love you; he loves everyone else just as much, and he wants us to love each other. We really are better together!

Ten Year Anniversary

Sunday 20th January marked the tenth anniversary of Geoff's ministry at FBC. In a surprise move the church was decorated with balloons, and a splendid cake (starring Ollie the puppet) was enjoyed by all. An unexpected gift almost (but not quite!) left Geoff speechless.
Here's to the next ten years!

Geoff has also responded to this on his blog here.
